What a WhatsApp click-to-chat link is
A click-to-chat link sends someone to a WhatsApp conversation route for a phone number. It is useful on a contact page, a digital business card, a service listing, or a message where you want to make it easier for someone to reach you. The link uses the international phone number format required by wa.me.
This builder formats the country code and number, then optionally adds a URL-encoded text message. The generated link is shown before you use it, so you can copy it, open a preview, or share it where appropriate.
Build a link in four steps
- Choose the country. India (+91) is the initial selection; change it to match the destination number.
- Enter the local number. Type digits without the selected country code. Omit a local trunk prefix such as an initial zero.
- Add an optional message. Keep it short and useful. The recipient can review or edit it before sending.
- Create and test the URL. Copy the result and test it on a device or browser where WhatsApp is available.
How the pre-filled message behaves
Spaces and punctuation in your message are encoded so they can travel safely in a URL. Opening the link should place that text in the chat composer when WhatsApp supports the destination and link flow. The text is not sent automatically: the person opening the link must review and send it themselves.
Keep the link accurate and private
A wrong country code can route a link to an unintended number. Before publishing, compare the generated number with the destination owner and try the link yourself. Avoid putting sensitive personal information in a pre-filled message because the URL itself may be copied, forwarded, or visible in browser history.
This independent builder works in your browser. It does not send the number or message to an Instaustad link-generation service. WhatsApp and Meta control the destination experience after a visitor opens the wa.me link.
