Why Instaustad's Design Doesn't Follow Instagram's Color Scheme

If you look at the landscape of tools built for Instagram users, you'll notice a common theme: the familiar purple-pink-orange gradient.

Most tools use Instagram's color scheme to create an immediate visual association. It's a shorthand way of saying, "We are part of this ecosystem." We deliberately chose to go in the exact opposite direction.

Visual Identity

Independence is visible.

Design

Choosing independence

Our dark, deep blue palette wasn't chosen randomly. We wanted Instaustad to feel professional, reliable, and entirely independent. Borrowing someone else's brand colors is, in many ways, a form of borrowed credibility. We want to earn our own.

We feature an independence disclaimer on our site, but we didn't want it to just be text. The visual identity itself needs to reinforce that disclaimer. When you land on Instaustad, we want you to know immediately that you are not on an official Instagram property, nor on a site trying to trick you into thinking it is.

Philosophy

Unmistakably ourselves

This color choice connects directly to our broader principles. We strive to be transparent, opinionated, and distinctly ourselves. We don't want to be generic, and we certainly don't want to be derivative.

The practical benefit for you is clarity. You can tell at a glance that this isn't an Instagram product. There's no confusion, no blurred lines, and no false pretenses. It's just Instaustad — focused, independent, and built differently.
