This is one of the more deliberate decisions behind how Instaustad works, and it's worth explaining rather than just stating as a bullet point in a features list.

Zero Credentials Required

We never ask for your Instagram password or account login.

The Problem

The pattern we're deliberately avoiding

A lot of "Instagram helper" tools — follower trackers, analytics dashboards, growth services — ask you to log in with your actual Instagram username and password directly on their site. Some frame it as necessary "to access your account data." In reality, handing your password to a third-party site means that site now has full access to your account: your messages, your ability to post, your connected payment methods if you run ads, everything.

Some of these services are careless with that access. Some are outright built to harvest credentials. Even the well-intentioned ones create an unnecessary risk, because every additional place your password lives is another place it can leak, get breached, or get misused. We built Instaustad specifically to not be one more place that happens.

Public Access Model

How our tools work without needing your login

Every tool on Instaustad only interacts with content that's already public. A public Instagram post, reel, profile picture, or bio is visible to anyone who visits that profile, logged in or not — that's the definition of "public." Our tools retrieve exactly that same publicly visible information and present it to you in a cleaner, more usable format. There's no account-level access involved, because none is needed for content that's already open to anyone.

A structural technical boundary:

This also means there's a hard technical boundary on what we can do: since we're only ever reading what's publicly available, we have no way to access private accounts, deleted content, or anything behind a login wall, even if we wanted to. The password-free design isn't just a policy — it's a structural limit on what the tools are even capable of.

Warning Signs

How to spot a site doing this wrong

If you ever come across a tool that asks you to enter your Instagram username and password directly on their own page — not through Instagram's official app-authorization flow, but as a plain login form — treat that as a serious warning sign, regardless of how professional the site looks.

Legitimate access to your account only ever happens through Instagram's own login page or its official authorization system for connected apps. A third-party form asking for your credentials directly should never be trusted, on Instaustad or anywhere else.

Your Peace of Mind

What this means for you as a user

Practically, it means you can use every tool on this site with zero risk to your Instagram account itself. There's nothing to compromise, because there's nothing of yours to log into. That's a small thing, but it's the reason the tools are built the way they are, rather than an accident of how we happened to code them.

Zero Risk Guarantee

You never enter passwords, connect social logins, or grant tokens. Instaustad acts purely as a public viewer for public web links.
